Every now and then, I need a little “kick” to my smoothies.
Ginger add just the right flavor for this, and is a great superfood to add to smoothies, teas, and warmed lemon water.
Spicy Green Smoothie
Ingredients:
1 ½ cup nut milk (coconut or almond); use water or coconut water if watching calories.
1 big handful mixed greens
¼ cup berries
½ avocado
1 tablespoon ginger root
1 tablespoon raw honey (optional)
1 tablespoon ground flax
1 scoop raw vegan protein powder
Dash cayenne pepper
Juice from 1 lemon
Optional: ice
Need it sweeter? add 1T raw organic honey.
Directions:
Blend well.
