Summer isn’t summer without a yummy salsa.
I make sure to plant extra tomatoes, jalapeños, peppers and onions in my gardens just for salsa making.
Use my simple salsa recipe as a “basic” recipe as a foundation for all salsas, then add simple whole food ingredients from the recipe options below, to enjoy a variety of delicious salsas.
Basic Salsa recipe:
1T lime juice
1/2 c red onion, chopped
1/2 c cilantro, chopped
2 garlic clove, minced
1/4 tsp raw organic honey (you can leave this out in the mango salsa)
1/2 tsp pink himalayan sea salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Then, add in desired variations to enjoy a variety of salsas.
Tomatillo Salsa–delicious with scrambled eggs
5 tomatillos, diced (oven-roasted adds extra flavor)
2 avocados, diced
1/4 serrano chile
Peach Salsa (this has a “kick”)–best with guacamole and homemade corn chips
4 peaches, diced
1 avocado, diced
1/4 tsp ginger (fresh grated is best)
1/4 tsp jalapeno, diced
Basic Fresca--add more or less onion, garlic and cilantro based on your preference. Delicious as a topping to black bean soup.
4 tomatoes, diced
1/2 jalapeno, diced
1/4 white onion, diced
1/4 c cilantro, diced
1 garlic clove, minced
Mango Salsa:
2 c mango
1 avocado, diced
2 tomatoes, diced
1/2 red onion, diced
1/2 c cilantro, chopped
1/4 jalapeno, diced
2 garlic cloves, diced
1 red pepper, diced
Enjoy!
