“Self-love is the source of all our other loves”–Pierre Corneille.
I believe this to be true. If we can’t love ourselves, we can’t truly love others.
And if we can’t take proper care of ourselves, we can’t take proper care of others.
And Self-love=self-care.
This makes Self-care a necessity, and a self-less act of Love-for-You.
Your health plays a big role in all aspects of your life, including how much effort you put into your daily self-care rituals and even how much you love yourself in general.
That means, improving your health is an act of self-love too!
Practicing daily self-care allows for better wellness, energy, and healthy aging.
For this self-care challenge, I promise you a self-care challenge tip everyday for one week–7 tips in 7 days.
These self-care tips are not only great for daily self-love, they are even more important when you are making important lifestyle changes, like eating clean whole food and drinking alot of water.
I add them to make my healthy lifestyle efforts more effective–I can feel my body performing better within days.
I recommend that you journal daily through this experience. Write down your thoughts, feelings, what you notice as you perform daily self-care. Then, at the end of the week review the journal and ask yourself these questions:
How did your daily self-care challenge go?
Did you use all of my tips?
Which one was your favorite, that worked best for you?
Are you noticing a difference as you make a concentrated effort to show yourself some daily self-love?
Which tip do you plan to continue to use, to show yourself some daily self-love?
You are so brave for trying something new, and for joining me in this challenge!
I recommend that you continue to use my tips for better self-care and self-love even after you have successfully completed my 7 day self-care challenge.
Self-care challenge Tip #1: Enjoy an Epsom Salt Bath.
Epsom baths provide the body with magnesium and sulfur to support detoxification.
What To do:
Add 1 cup of Epsom salts,
½ cup baking soda,
½ cup sea salt,
1 teaspoon dried ginger
and ¼ cup raw apple cider vinegar to a warm bath.
You can also add essential oils (my favorite is lavender).
Soak for 20 minutes.
Afterwards, rub body with coconut oil to hydrate skin!

Self-care Challenge Tip #2: Indulge in a healthy, guilt-free, yummy treat.
Today is your day to indulge in a guilt-free healthy treat!
One of my favorite guilt-free treats is chocolate pudding.
Make this with love, and enjoy every single bite.
Self-care Challenge Tip #3: Read Your Favorite Book.
Today is your day to indulge in one of your favorite books, or buy a new one.
Reading is a magnificent stress reliever.
I recommend a print book rather than an eBook.
Print books provide zero distractions, whereas eBooks can be interrupted by social media alerts and email notifications. And the screen lighting affects your melatonin production, so if you are reading late in the evening or night, it can interfere with your sleep quality.
Find a quiet spot and immerse yourself in the story, smell the paper and savor the texture of the pages, and cover.
If you can read in the sun or sand, do it!
What is your favorite book to read and re-read?
Mine is, “Wuthering Heights” by Emily Bronte.
I just can’t get enough of the tragic love story–I feel madly in love with Heathcliff, the tortured romatic hero, the first time I read it, and that feeling has never changed 🙂
Self-care Challenge Tip #4: Listen to music.
What is you favorite music?
Whatever it is, today is the day to rock out to it.
Turn on Pandora, grab your ipod, or pop on an old vinyl record, and move your body to the rhythm.
Have fun – don’t worry about your dancing skills, just enjoy yourself.
I love anything by Neil Diamond (truth), and anything by my 3 J’s:
Johnny Cash, John Denver and James Taylor. I also love Queen and ColdPlay.
I love Blue Grass music, too–especially Allison Krause.
So put your favorite music on, and dance away!
Self-care Challenge Tip #5: Go for a walk.
The magic here is that you are breathing and moving.
When is the last time you went for a walk aimlessly?
Do that today.
Walk outside, to the park, the beach, or anywhere.
Walk barefoot if possible and enjoy “grounding” and connecting yourself to the Earth.
Breathe in nature, breathe out stress and be present in the moment.
Not only will you get your heart pumping and your blood circulating, you’ll get some much-needed vitamin D from the sun.
Self-care Challenge Tip #6: Live in Gratitude
Make a list of five gratitudes.
This will help you focus on the positive and push the negative out of your life.
What are you most thankful for in your life?
Also focus on who you are most grateful for, and let them know!
Remember to let go of what doesn’t strengthen, build or serve you.
This allows you to keep moving forward in your Life and be Amazing.
Self-care Challenge Tip #7: Write a Love Letter to You
Do you love yourself?
What about yourself do you love?
Today I want you to write a love letter to yourself.
Pretend you’re observing yourself from afar – what do you notice that is unique and wonderful?
Doing this will help you realize how amazing of a person you really are!
This will have a great effect on endorphin production as well as confidence!
Read this letter to yourself often, too.
