Homemade Herb Bread
This wonderful flatbread uses clean, whole food ingredients, and is delicious: full of antioxidants, and nutrition!
The flax adds important omegas.
This pairs well with hummus and guacamole. Use it as a bread replacement at meals, or as a “sandwich” for your favorite veggies!
This recipe is made in a dehydrator at 105 degrees to maintain the nutrients, minerals, and digestive enzymes of the ingredients.
It Yields about 3 trays in dehydrator.
Ingredients
2 cups organic spinach
4 ripe organic tomatoes
1 1/2 cup sun-dried tomato (a jar of sun-dried tomatoes with olive oil is fine)
3/4 cup ground flax
1 1/2 tsp tamari (or liquid amigos)
1 T fresh oregano, chopped, (or 1 tsp dried oregano)
1 T fresh basil, chopped (or 1 tsp dried)
1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
2 cloves garlic
Dash black pepper
Directions
1.) Cut tomatoes into quarters
2.) Use food processor with “S” blade and mix all ingredients until smooth and creamy
3.) Spread mixture on teflex trays and dry at 105 degrees for 12 hours
4.) Pull out the trays and flip it around for another 12 hours in dehydrator
5.) Take the trays out and cut the flat bread with scissors, make it 9-12 squares of bread in each tray
Serve with guacamole, hummus or use as “sandwich bread” for your favorite veggies.
