Detox Support: Epsom Salt Bath
It is important to assist our bodies in the natural process of detoxing.
Epsom salt baths have been used for hundreds of years to reduce pain, inflammation, insomina, swelling and ease sore muscles.
It’s also a great way to relax and reduce your stress. It is a good component for any detox or cleanse that you are doing.
Simply: Add 1-2 cups of epsom salts to your warm running bath water. The salts will dissolve, and your body will enjoy the minerals, particularly the magnesium, as it absorbs through your skin, while the toxins are pulled out.
ProTip: You can add 1/2 c olive oil to the water to allow the polyphenols to absorb into the skin for an extra antioxidant benefit, and add 1T-1/2 cup of ginger and/or cayenne to increase the “heat” and sweating for an added detox benefit.
Plan to soak for about 40 minutes. It typically takes about 20 minutes to for the epsom salts to pull out the toxins and then another 20 minutes for your body to absorb the minerals in the bath water.
