Berry-Beet Detox Smoothie
Recipe modifed from my good friend, Marla Schnack
Warning–this is So Good!
Beets and berries are great antioxidants–the cleanse the liver, blood, lymphs and kidneys nicely. They also help the liver balance hormones nicely.
I love to drink this when I am feeling my adrenal are getting a little taxed.
It’s also perfect after a morning run. And it’s wonderful to drink sitting outside in the warming sunshine.
Ingredients:
3 cups coconut milk (carrageenan-free)
1 beet chopped
1/2 avocado
2 stalk celery
1 1/2 c strawberries (fresh or frozen)
1/2 cup blueberries
1 scoop vegan protein (15 -17 gm protein)
1 T ground flax (more protein + omegas)
Optional: 1/4 cup oatmeal (gluten-free)
Optional: Ice
Blend well, and enjoy the gorgeous color and delicious flavor, and smile knowing how well you are nourishing your body!
